Belinda, one of India’s leading wildlife conservationists is best known for her Emmy Award winning film Land of the Tiger. She has co-authored five books, including Through The Tiger’s Eyes: A Chronicle of India’s Wildlife. Her photographs and writings have appeared in books, exhibitions, magazines and scientific journals throughout the world. She founded the Wildlife Protection Society of India (WPSI) in 1994 with the specific aim of providing additional support and information to combat poaching and the escalating illegal wildlife trade.
She was awarded the O.B.E. for services to the protection of wildlife and endangered species in India in 2003 and the Carl Zeiss Wildlife Conservation Award in 2005. She was elected an Ashoka Senior Fellow in 2009 and received the prestigious Sanctuary Lifetime Service Award in 2012.
