Rana Dasgupta wins 2010 Commonwealth Writers’ Prize

Dasgupta [Rana Dasgupta] received 10,000 British Pound, while Guest received 5,000 British Pound. ‘Solo’ examines the impact of the 20th century on Bulgaria through the life and dreams of an ageing chemist.
Rana Dasgupta was delighted to have won the 10,000 British Pounds Commonwealth Writers’ Prize. He was born in Canterbury, but now lives in New Delhi.
His first book, ‘Tokyo Cancelled’, was shortlisted for the Commonwealth Prize and John Llewellyn Rhys Prize.
