Savita Hiremath is a Bangalore-based writer, journalist, and environmental activist with nearly three decades of experience. A former Features Editor at The New Indian Express, she has also written for The Times of India and Deccan Herald, covering feminism, culture, politics, and the environment. A native Kannada speaker from a North Karnataka farming family, her writing is deeply rooted in land, memory, and oral traditions.
Her award-winning nonfiction book Endlessly Green, explores citizen-led sustainability and earned recognition at the Green Literature Festival. Her blog of the same name won the Social Media for Empowerment Award in 2018 and has built a wide readership among citizens, activists, and policymakers engaged with urban sustainability.
