Lizy Joy

Lizy Joy, born in Thrissur, Kerala, is a distinguished Malayalam novelist and short story writer.  A retired Chief Manager of CSB Bank, she successfully balanced a professional banking career with a productive literary journey.

She has authored five books, including four novels and one short story collection. Her debut novel, Mumbai, received the Mathrubhumi Books Novel Award and the S. K. Marar Award. Her second novel, Vilanilangal, was serialised in Kalakaumudi Weekly and later published by Mathrubhumi Books. Her third novel, Vilappurangal, serialised in Samakalika Malayalam Varika and later published by Mathrubhumi Books, earned wide acclaim and multiple honours, including the M. P. Paul Sahitya Puraskaram, Sahitya Vimarsam Award, Vanitha Sahithi Yuva Kala Sahithi Rajalakshmy Award, and the KCBC Media Award. Her latest novel, Arthakama, was published in 2024 by Mathrubhumi Books. In the realm of short fiction, her story Boribanderile Pasu won the Kairali Atlas Award. Her short story collection Boribanderile Pasu, published by Poorna Publishing House, received the Muthukulam Parvathiamma Award (2018) and the Avanibala Puraskaram (2019).
