Manjula Padmanabhan

Manjula Padmanabhan, is an award-winning author, playwright, artist and cartoonist. She grew up in Europe and Southeast Asia, returning to India as a teenager.

Her play Harvest won the first ever Onassis Award for Theatre, in Greece. She has published some 16 books of prose and theatre. Her two most recent titles are Stolen Hours and Other Curiosities, a collection of Sci-fi short stories and Taxi, a racy, witty novel about a woman taxi driver in New Delhi.

She has illustrated over 20 children’s titles including her own stories. She maintained a comic strip for several years, with a fuzzy-haired young woman called Suki as its central character.
