Rizvina Morseth de Alwis

Rizvina Morseth de Alwis worked for the United Nations for seventeen years and has lived and worked in several countries in the Asia and Pacific region. Her first novel, It’s Not in the Stars won the Fairway National Literary Award 2015 and the SriLanka State Literary Award 2016. Her second novel, The Memory of Loss (manuscript) was shortlisted for the Gratiaen Prize 2016. Talking to the Sky is her third novel and was shortlisted for the Gratiaen Prize 2021. She has also written and published on gender and development issues and co-authored Feminist Engagements with Violence: Contingent Moments from Sri Lanka. Other recent non-fiction work includes a contribution to an upcoming anthology Forgotten Foods: A Culinary Journey Through Muslim South Asia.
