Shashi Kiran Shetty

Shashi Kiran Shetty is the Founder and Chairman of Allcargo Group, India’s largest homegrown logistics multinational with operations in 180 countries. He also serves as Chairman, Board of Governance, IIM Mumbai (formerly NITIE).

Allcargo Logistics Limited was founded by Shetty in 1994 as a tiny cargo handling operations entity at Mumbai’s Jawaharlal Nehru Port. In a matter of just a decade, the company took an intrepid decision to acquire Antwerp-based ECU-Line – an ocean freight services provider – several times its size, making it one of the first Indian companies to go global, long before such takeovers became fashionable.

Today, the company rakes in over a billion dollars in revenue – and is a global leader in LCL (less than container) consolidation – a key component of modern logistics. It also delivers air freight solutions, parcels (through its subsidiary Gati) and owns warehouses and logistics parks that store cargo, operating as a full-stack integrated service provider with an established presence across Europe, Africa, the Americas and Asia-Pacific
