Cries is a collection of urgent poems that call attention to our strange and critical times. With a subtext of today’s cri(s)es both internal and external, it screams with concern and chaos, but also exults in the gifts of nature and squeals with wonder. There’s torment, hope, transformation; cries of, and for, the spirit through multiple perspectives. From a plea for love to a prayer for the planet, these verses come in response to real events, pandemic, war, mental health and climatic catastrophe – informed by the present socio-political, ecological and human condition. They urge you to take a dip in the blender of our collective consciousness, churning with the magic and the mundane, with emotion and exhaustion.
