Three Asian women in the global garment industry – Gita, Beli, and Adharshini – struggle and triumph as they navigate through identity, agency, love, lust, single-parenthood and sexual harassment in the punishing world of fast fashion. What links their lives across geographies? A coat, which travels across the global supply chain. From stitching to sales, it connects the lives of these three women – a size-zero, starving Indian ramp model in New York who after a deathly hospitalization must rethink her place in the fashion world; then, a garment worker in Bangladesh, who has to save her family from a corrupt textile landowner; and finally, an Exports Manager, a rape survivor in Bengaluru, India, who must navigate her faith between man and machine.
