Bhargavi Kumaran is a Chennai-born author who has been making up stories since before she could properly write them down.
Her work is driven by an enduring fascination with the labyrinth of human behaviour and how it has evolved across the ancient and digital.
By day (and most nights), she’s also a doctoral candidate at NTU studying algorithmically enabled oppression, or how oppressive social structures find new life online. It sounds very serious, and it is, but it all feeds into her novels, so just read those instead.
When she isn’t writing, Bhargavi is usually looking for an excuse to wade into the ocean.
